Wait! It's October?!

EEkkk.. I'm not scared over here, I am freaking out! I am not ready for this Halloween thing at all! I need to get the girls their costumes, but more importantly, we had traditions in the Midwest... I know where Nothing is here. I don't have a clue where we will be going and trick or treating. I guess I need to get to Google-ing some stuff. I need to go shopping!

Pumpkin’s

Guess what we did this weekend?

Finally got those pumpkins carved! Alisa & Maya started off be drawing with a sharpie. They did a great job! I was impressed by far… Alisa is a little artist in her own right, but Maya doesn’t ever draw. I Mean NEVER, and her’s looked awesome.

Once the girls were done drawing, my husband took the tops off, so that we could get “all the cheese stuff” out. I guess when my girls saw this on television, they thought it was shredded cheese inside… hahahah I guess, it’s orange, stringy, but what they didn’t realize is that it is SLIMMMY! My oldest kept repeating “ewww gross, ewww gross”, my youngest would not even touch it.

In a Halloween mood?

It’s been crazy warm here in Indiana, so I really haven’t been in much of a Halloween mood. My girls went out to play yesterday, while my husband cleaned his car, & the across-the-street neighbor lady brought gifts. She was cleaning out the garage and came upon sidewalk chalk, which my girls were happy as could be with. Alisa first drew her lovely people with a rainbow, as usual, but then moved on to bigger and better things….

She IS in a Halloween mood, even if mommy isn’t. Not bad for a 4 and half year old, huh? My Alisa is my little artist.

Maya little Ghost

When baby Maya came home from the hospital, Alisa use to call her Maya baby. I still think that is the cutest thing ever. She was not just Maya, she was not my baby, she was Maya baby. Anyway, that is just a side note in this post.

Maya’s first Halloween she was still quite little, 5 months to be exact, I thought seriously about not dressing her up. She was going to stay at home with her daddy, after all, and pass out candy. Then, I came across this cute onsie at Wally for like $5, who could pass that up?!

I brought it home and pondered for a bit.. white tights and this onsie was just not enough. I certainly was not going to invest more money, when in the beginning I wasn’t even going to dress her up. Thinking….. Then? Wait. I had an idea! I can make her a “skirt” (this was before I saw the homemade tutus or even how to make them). I just went with my crafty instinct, a piece of ribbon with white material tied around it…. wedding crinoline ? No, too scratchy for a baby.. what else did I have laying around the house? The idea hit me as I was drifting off to sleep.

I tore up a sheet into strips and tied it around the ribbon… by the looks of this picture I think she liked it!
